Beech Interplex is dedicated to rejuvenating the Cecil B. Moore community in Philadelphia through community empowerment, neighborhood revitalization, and entrepreneurship. When Governor Tom Wolf announced the launch of the $225 million COVID-19 Relief Pennsylvania Statewide Small Business Assistance program in June 2020, Beech Interplex wanted to ensure their community didn’t miss out on the opportunity.
Beech Interplex hired The Intersect to canvas North Philadelphia, particularly the Cecil B. Moore community, and inform local residents and small business owners about the grant program, which designated $100 million specifically for “historically disadvantaged businesses.” Already a corridor manager in this community, and considered a historically disadvantaged business itself, The Intersect leveraged existing relationships and experience to help direct program funds to the intended recipients. The Intersect reached over fifteen corridors and more than 1,000 community members through our efforts.
