In June 2020, Governor Tom Wolf announced the launch of the state’s $225 million COVID-19 Relief Pennsylvania Statewide Small Business Assistance grant program, with $100 million designated specifically for “historically disadvantaged businesses.” As one of 17 Pennsylvania community development financial institutions (CDFIs) administering the grants, Impact Loan Fund was quickly inundated with inquiries about the program.
With the anticipation of phones ringing off the hook, Impact Loan Fund turned to The Intersect for support. The Intersect immediately stepped in to create a virtual response center, hiring several staff to answer phone calls and field questions from thousands of small business owners throughout Pennsylvania. Highly skilled in customer service and community engagement, we were able to build a bridge between Impact Loan Fund and local entrepreneurs in need. To date, more than 220 Pennsylvania small businesses have received funding from Impact Loan Fund with our support.
